EXPRESSTRAIN: Speak up!
The ability to speak well to groups has become important much earlier in careers. Most presentation courses focus on the relatively simple situation of a formal presentation, where the speaker has the audience's attention to begin with and plenty of time to prepare. People find this hard enough, but it's much harder when you have to attract attention and speak spontaneously - as at a meeting, for example.

In EXPRESSTRAIN Speak up!, participants start by making a statement to the group intended to attract attention and inspire action. A set of speaking tips and techniques is then presented. This session includes how to grab attention, how to lead an audience, how to lead to a desired action, how to give a formal presentation, how to design great visual aids and how to do well without them. After this, participants try their original statement again and have the chance to apply their new skills to real work situations.

Duration: 160 minutes. For up to 12 people - the relatively small maximum is because everyone needs turns in speaking to the group. Room layout: any; chairs but not tables are needed. Equipment: None needed.
